World Bee CARE (Colony, Advising, Research, and Establishment) is founded on the idea that preserving the honeybee and other pollinators is key to human survival on the planet.
Our mission is to engage individuals, organizations, and communities to promote the preservation and proliferation of pollinators and the environments in which they thrive, for social & economic empowerment, food security, and to care for the Earth.
Human society has evolved to be reliant on food sources that require pollination to produce or reproduce. In addition to this invaluable indirect service honeybees provide us with a variety of products that we use for everything from food to medicine to light. Honey Bees are wild insects but if we seek to understand their biology it is possible for us to manage them to our own great benefit. And, in this era when honeybee populations are under threat from a variety of pests, diseases, and environmental factors the honeybee unknowingly is relying on us to see it through.
World Bee CARE recognizes the great opportunities honeybee management offers individuals, communities, and governments. We provide a variety of services designed to support these endeavors.
World Bee CARE works with communities to promote pollinator health, strengthen local economies, and support food security. Our values-based, holistic and community development approach focuses on:
Food security and nutrition
Increase in income and assets
The environment
Social capital
Women's empowerment
